Mint Chip Smoothie
good and good for you
I kind of think it’s stupid to be sharing a smoothie recipe with you, but here I am doing it again. Like last time, it’s a really good one. Perhaps my favorite. Some might say it’s the only smoothie recipe to ever exist. If you’re not already a paid subscriber, I think this smoothie recipe alone is worth the price of admission.
First, I should say:
For some reason, I dislike smoothie culture, but as a millenial, I love drinking them. I can’t justify this weird paradox: I love smoothies and I find them embarrassing. Does anyone else feel that way?
Smoothies are very close to home for me. I started drinking Slim Fast in seventh grade, an unfortunate reaction to being teased by my brothers for being “fat.” I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t carry those scars with me into adulthood. Humans are so resilient but so tender, and it’s crazy that a tiny, insignificant moment can be so impactful and lasting, right?
I digress - this is getting very serious for a post about smoothies.
Here is an incredibly delightful, memorable smoothie recipe. It can be made with or without the au courant protein powder; I prefer it with, as it gives the smoothie more heft and makes it more substantive. It’s inspired by a smoothie I had at Sunlife Organics last week. Honestly, I like mine better.
