Consider the Prune
An homage to the maligned magic of a dried plum (and also to Frankie's Spuntino)
In my early twenties I was the General Manager of the restaurant at the 21C Museum Hotel in Louisville, KY. Each year we played host to an impressive number of VIP’s and bigwigs in town for the Kentucky Derby. The biggest of the bigwigs always took over the penthouse, and over the years there were a number of A-Listers that made their way through the place.
One year the media and one time baseball/bison baron Ted Turner was staying with us. During his stay we had to stock his room with prune juice, which required a restock a couple of times. Ted Turner is not afraid to commit to one of the worlds under appreciated offerings - the dried plum. Same here, Ted.
