Cooking at home is a lot easier when you love your tools. I’ve written extensively about my favorites over the years, and have even shared some with different publications.
Today I am sending along a round-up of the items I use daily. You would find some version of these in almost any of the best restaurants across the country.
I’m an avid home cook, and I’m particular about my tools. They make cooking enjoyable. I’m looking for both form AND function. Craftsmanship is important. I like items without excess ornamentation or trickery. Less is more. Most people have too much crap in the kitchen when a few smart essentials will get you 99% of the way there.
Moreover, I’m a researcher. Before I make a purchase, I like to dig deep - well beyond the Wirecutters and Strategists of the world. I tend to fall down rabbit holes, and when I finally pull the trigger, I’m hard on the stuff I buy. If it doesn’t do the intended job well, I’ll donate it to someone else. All that is to say, I love this stuff.
If you don’t cook, you surely know someone who does. Keep this list and reference it when you need a host gift, a Christmas present, or you just want to do something nice for someone.
