Hello, my friends, old readers and new. I have something thrilling to share:

We’re opening a new restaurant!

If you can’t tell from my excessive use of exclamation points, I’m excited. It’s been six years since our last project, Melfi’s, which is in a beautiful place and has positioned itself (in my opinion, at least!) as one of the better restaurants in Charleston. And this is a great town with a LOT of really, really good restaurants.

Things in this business are nothing if not a constant roller coaster ride, a pendulum that swings between “all good” and “absolute chaos;” at the moment (knocking on wood), our three restaurants are in nice shape with solid leadership on site and great teams of passionate people.

Over the last six years we’ve considered a number of new projects, gotten really really close on one, and passed on dozens more. Expansion was not on the list of priorities, but we encountered a great space in a great town with so much potential.
