For today’s newsletter I wanted to share some observations from a recent stay at The Pelican Inn on Pawley’s Island. Our tradition - though newly formed - is to stay every Memorial Day on their opening weekend. This was our third year in a row and served as a reminder of the uniqueness of this property. It is a place worth seeking out, and exemplifies a certain kind of lodging experience that is increasingly rare: personal, soulful, and trend averse.
The Pelican Inn is resolutely itself, and the proprietors seem hell bent on keeping it the same for decades to come.
